THE largest cruise liner to call into Portland Port so far arrived from Rotterdam.
The MV Westerdam called into the port’s ferry terminal yesterday before departing at about 9pm last night for Guernsey.
Ted Toop, of Wyke Regis, caught the ship on camera as she pulled into Portland Harbour.
He said that she was the largest cruise liner to visit so far and berthed at the port’s Outer Coaling Pier.
Passengers from the MV Westerdam set out on day trips to Sherborne, Corfe Castle, Stonehenge and Weymouth.
The ship, from the Holland American line, can carry up to 1,916 passengers and is 285 metres in length.
Portland Port is stepping up plans to attract more cruise liners into the area.
