A car has caught fire on Portland blocking a main road both ways.
Police and firefighters have been called to Portland Beach Road on Portland following reports of a car fire at 2.41pm.
Two fire crews are in attendance from Weymouth and Portland.
Two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
Both ways of the A354 Portland Road are partially blocked from Coode Way (Castletown) to Merley Road (Wyke Regis).
Officers are assisting with traffic control.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "The incident is on-going, but we were called to Portland Beach Road, Portland at 2.41pm for a car fire.
"We have two crews in attendance, from Weymouth and Portland, and two breathing apparatus wearers are using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire."
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 2.50pm on Thursday June 27 to a report of a car fire on Portland beach road.
"The fire service has requested assistance with traffic control."
