FIREFIGHTERS in Bournemouth and Poole attended more incidents than any of Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service’s (DWFRS) stations last year.

A Freedom of Information Request submitted to DWFRS revealed the number of incidents attended by each station between January 1 and December 31 of 2023.

The stations with the highest number of incidents were Poole and Springbourne, both responding to 1447 call outs in that time period.

Redhill station saw 1002 incidents, while Westbourne firefighters responded to 1194.

There were 764 incidents for Christchurch Station, 301 for Ferndown, 155 for Swanage, 156 for Verwood and 262 for Wimborne.

The DWFRS station with the lowest number of incidents was Ramsbury in Wiltshire, with firefighters only responding to six call outs.

DWFRS said its busiest stations, such as Poole, Springbourne, Redhill Park and Westbourne, are all crewed by full-time staff rather than on-call staff.
