Major roadworks on an industrial estate which have led to a lane closure have come to a temporary halt.

The southbound lane of the main route through the Granby Industrial Estate closed on Monday, April 15 with work ongoing until Friday, May 17.

However, the lane reopened today as the first phase of works comes to an end.

Work will continue Monday with the one way system further up Hampshire Road / Cumberland Drive with three more weeks of work planned.

The pavement has been resurfaced along Hampshire Road from its junction with the B3157 Chickerell Link Road up to its junction with Albany Road.

From this point the road becomes Cumberland Drive and the pavement from that point until Tecan Way has not yet been resurfaced.

"We will be setting up the one way system further up Hampshire Road/Cumberland Drive on Monday morning for a further two weeks, then the final phase for one week."
