A MAN remains on police bail nearly a year after multiple cars were torched in neighbouring towns.
The 13 vehicles were set alight across the Broadstone, Wimborne and Merley areas in the early hours of Monday, May 15, last year.
The locations with reported arson incidents included Wentworth Drive, Oakley Road, Merley Way, Stour Walk, New Borough Road, Grove Road and Leigh Road.
Two properties were also affected by the fires.
A full investigation was launched and a local man aged in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of arson.
He was later released and has remained on police bail ever since.
His bail period was due to expire earlier this year, but has been extended by police multiple times.
On Monday, Dorset Police confirmed the current bail period is now due to expire at the beginning of June.
