A PhD student will be giving a talk on the heritage and archaeology behind an eighth century abbey.
Friends of Sherborne Abbey have organised a presentation called The History, Heritage and Archaeology of Sherborne Abbey Project 2023 to 2026.
The talk will take place on Monday, March 4 at 7pm in the Abbey and will be introduced by PhD student, Francis Brown, from the University of Exeter.
He will discuss the outline and aims of the studentship which comprises a PhD project and a compilation of the Conservation Management Plan for Sherborne Abbey, as well as giving a brief insight into his research.
The abbey was previously a Saxon Cathedral, originally built in the eighth century, before becoming an abbey and a parish church by 1539.
There will be time for questions at the end and light refreshments in the Lady Chapel afterwards.
If you would like to reserve a ticket, email Joanna.Sams@sherborneabbey.com by Monday, February 26.
