Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire near Blandford yesterday afternoon.
Blandford Fire Station received the call at 2.25pm on Tuesday, January 9 that a vehicle was on fire in the village of Winterborne Clenston.
The fire broke out in the driving compartment of the vehicle and was put out by the crew quickly upon their arrival.
The vehicle was checked over with a thermal imaging camera and the battery was disconnected as firefighters secured the scene before leaving.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been electrical.
A spokesperson for Blandford Fire Station said: "A crew from Blandford was mobilised to reports of a fire in a vehicle in the village of Winterborne Clenston at 2.25pm.
"On arrival crews were met with a fire within the vehicles driving compartment.
"This was quickly extinguished using one hose reel jet. The vehicle was checked over using a thermal imaging camera and the battery was disconnected before crews left the scene."
