A medical emergency took place on Weymouth beach yesterday afternoon.
At 5.25pm coastguard teams and an ambulance were called to a medical incident on the sands.
Initially, it was thought that an air ambulance would be needed, but the casualty was stabilised and transferred to a waiting ambulance.
A spokesperson for Wyke Regis Coastguard said: "We were tasked at 5.25pm along with Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust & RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset with a medical incident on Weymouth beach.
"Initially, it was thought heli med would be landing on the sands and an emergency HLS required. The casualty was stabilised and transferred to an awaiting ambulance."
