Residents in the area reported 'lots of fire engines, police and ambulances' had driven to Portland, with one spotting three ambulance incident response units travelling on the Portland Beach road.

Upon arrival, the fire was extinguished by onboard Navy Personnel, but firefighters ensured the scene was safe.
