A SECTION of the A35 has been fully reopened following a car fire this morning.
The A35 was closed both ways from the A354, Puddletown/Blandford turn off, to the B3390, Affpuddle/Tolpuddle turn off.
Both carriageways have now been reopened.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 10.46am from the fire service of a vehicle fire at the Tolpuddle Ball junction between the A35 and the B3390.
"It was reported that smoke was covering the A35 and road closures were put in place.
"Recovery is being arranged for the vehicle involved."
A spokesman for Dorchester Fire Staion said: "At 10:43am we were mobilised to reports of a car fire on the westbound section of the A35, Puddletown bypass.
"Upon arrival we got to work setting up a safe working area whilst two breathing apparatus wearers dealt with the car fire. Crews left the scene at 11:40am."
