A CAR burst into flames on the A30 heading towards Sherborne.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at around 10am yesterday morning and found the vehicle was well alight.
Two firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The fire was believed to have started from the engine of the vehicle.
Firefighters from Sherborne Fire Station and Yeovil Fire Station were called to the scene.
Dorset Council Highways were contacted to assist with making the highway due to oil, fuel and burning to carriageway.
