A woman suffered a medical emergency at Park Street in Weymouth and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
An ambulance was called to the incident at around 12.30pm yesterday.
Resident Mike Taylor said "It looked like a woman collapsed at a doorway in Park Street; two paramedics there.
"I was just having a walk in town centre and saw the blue lights from far away - I had come back from visiting the cruise ships."
Confirming the incident, a spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: "We were called at just after 12.30pm to an address in Weymouth, which we attended with one ambulance."
