Around 40 to 50 homes have been left without power in Weymouth.
Residents in the DT4 area reported the power cut at 10.45am this morning.
A spokesman for SSEN said: “We have been contacted by customers reporting flickering light, so engineers were sent to investigate.
“They have identified faulty equipment and have isolated supplies to make repairs. They estimate there are 40 to 50 customers currently off supply, but will be able to provide a more accurate estimate when the work has progressed.”
He added: “SSEN would like to apologise for any inconvenience cause and assure customers that we are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
“The supply is due back on by 1.45pm.”
