Firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle fire near Dorchester.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 8.41pm yesterday to reports of a van on fire on the A37 Long Ash Lane.
One fire crew from Maiden Newton station was sent to the scene, but firefighters discovered that it was a false alarm caused by a blown turbo.
Advice was given to the owner of the van and the crew returned to the station.
