Firefighters from Sherborne Fire Station helped extinguish a large tractor which was well alight.
Two fire engines were called to reports of a large fire in the open at Henstridge yesterday (25/09) at 6.18pm.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they received multiple calls with reports of an explosion in the area.
A third fire engine was sent from Wincanton Fire Station to the incident.
The spokesman added: “On route, smoke was visible on the horizon.
“Approximately 100 metres from the incident, it became apparent a large tractor was well alight. Crews extinguished the blazes using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.”
Crews returned to their stations at 8.45pm.
