A driver had a lucky escape after their vehicle caught fire last night.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Morden Road, Wareham just after 7.30pm last night (September 2).
The vehicle was just south of Sherford Bridge by the layby.
Firefighters were able to see smoke rising in the distance while en route to the scene and and on arrival the found a car 'well alight'.
The driver thankfully escaped unharmed and was nearby on our arrival.
Fire crews quickly got to work and extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus.
Dorset Police were called to the scene to assist with traffic management and closed the road until the fire was extinguished.
