So pleased that the “range of options are still on the table” and will be open for public debate and discussion, regarding the car park and market site.

Would the council development director like to put up signs showing car users where all the available parking spaces are, as they will be needed when we lose yet another car park?

What a wonderful idea to have a hotel in the town; has the council development director failed to notice the Kings Arm’s hotel that is slowly decaying in the town, it comes with a car park so potential for more shops.

How can any one argue that building more shops on a car park is a good idea, when the town has such awful parking issues already?

Could the council maybe explain why would any one want to come to Dorchester?

Maybe they would come to see if they could park or possibly to look at the weeds in the gutters or play the games locals play... count the empty shops.

Either way if the council has so much money to waste could they not start by cleaning the town up and lowering the amount they charge for rates as surely some money and the shop occupied is better than no money.

Finally as regards the market’s decline, a simple reason, the amount being charged per pitch.
