The incident happened just before 11pm on Thursday
An investigation has been launched following a boat fire.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were called to a boat fire near Ferrymans Way on Thursday evening (7) - just before 11pm.
Two crews from Weymouth attended the incident and extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.
Wyke Coastguard were also alerted to the incident as it was originally believed that the boat was on the water, but was in fact on land.
Dorset Police were also contacted and assisted with the incident.
A spokesman said: "It is being treated as suspicious and police are making enquiries."
