Firefighters were called to a car blaze after a crash on the A30 near Sherborne.
Sherborne Fire Station received reports of a vehicle fire at 11.25pm yesterday evening.
When the fire crew arrived the car was found on its roof with fuel and oil leaking from it.
The Sherborne fire crew decided to stop the leaks by righting the vehicle onto its wheels.
Crews managed to turn the vehicle over, stop the leaks and disconnect the battery for safety.
Everyone involved in the accident was already out of the car before emergency services were alerted.
The incident was handed over to the police, who arranged the recovery of the vehicle and had the highways agency attend the scene.
