FORECASTERS expect the weather will be mostly fine and dry in the south west this weekend with temperatures potentially rising high as 21 degrees.

Earlier this week the Echo reported temperatures in Dorset could be set to rival those enjoyed in Ibiza.

The Met Office indicated a mini heatwave was heading for the country as a result of a tropical continental air mass from North Africa.

On Sunday, temperatures are expected to reach 18 degrees in Weymouth, whilst Bridport could enjoy 21 degrees.

For the most part, people in the south west can expect a largely dry and fine end to the day.

Showery outbreaks of rain will spread by dawn however, particularly across western areas.

Saturday will feel warm and humid and people should expect it to be cloudier with showery outbreaks in the far southwest of the region.

Sunday will be largely dry and fine with the odd shower.
