Firefighters were called to a car fire on the A35 on Friday (18) evening.
The fire on South Sea Road caused disruption, with the road blocked while emergency services were on scene. Congestion is still being reported in the area between the Crown roundabout and the Pasture Way junction.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the incident at 5.20pm.
Crews from Bridport attended the incident, and the fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets, two breathing apparatus and foam.
