FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a car fire at the top of the Ridgeway.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to reports of a car 'well alight' on the A354 earlier this morning at around 11.10am.
Crews from Weymouth Fire Station and Dorchester Fire Station attended the scene. The fire was put out by 11.27am.
Two firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
The road was blocked in both directions between the Stadium Roundabout in Dorchester and the Jurassic Roundabout in Weymouth whilst the fire was dealt with.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
