ACTOR Martin Clunes will be the narrator for a revised musical story to be performed in Dorchester by the Dorset Chamber Orchestra.
Music for Youth is at St Mary’s Church in Dorchester on Saturday, March 7 at 4pm.
The magical musical afternoon will begin with the fun of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture and end with de Falla’s exciting Ritual Fire Dance.
The middle section of the concert will see Hannah McFarlane, pictured, as the soloist in Dvorak’s rarely heard Rondo for Cello and Orchestra. Hannah, now aged 12, has appeared twice before with the DCHO and is an experienced orche-stral player with the Under 13 National Children’s Orchestra and the Wessex Youth Orchestra. Learning with local cello teacher, Sally Stell, Hannah achieved Grade 8 with distinction last year.
The orchestra’s generous patron Martin Clunes is to narrate the revised musical story by the team of Sharma and Baker, entitled ‘Dave the Musical Caveman’.
Tickets cost £10 and are available at the door or from Harmony Music, the Forum Centre, Trinity Street, Dorchester.
Make cheques payable to ‘Dorset Chamber Orchestra’ and include an SAE.
The concert is free for under 18s.
