FILM fans won’t want to disapparate any time soon after the announcement that Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright has joined the cast of children’s adventure film Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg?

Filming for the adventure is currently taking place at Freshwater Holiday Park in Burton Bradstock near Bridport, which featured in the first series of award-winning ITV drama Broadchurch.

The cameras are due to finish rolling at the end of next week and co-director Danny Stack said he is ‘absolutely thrilled’ that Bonnie has joined the cast for the final week of production.

Bonnie Wright is an English actress, model, screenwriter, director and producer – who is best known for playing the role of Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, based on the novels by J.K Rowling.

The story of Nelson Nutmeg focuses on four children on their annual summer holiday who suspect that their holiday park’s mascot is in danger.

The group set out to find the evidence they need and work to reveal the culprit – also aiming to convince their sceptical parents they were right all along.

The film is being co-directed by filmmakers Tim Clague and Danny Stack, with support from fans, local families and businesses such as Discover Dorset.

thought Bonnie would be ideal for the role of Diane, the shady new manager of the camp in the story, as it’d be fun to play her against type and it’s brilliant to have such a successful child actress in one of the adult roles.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Bonnie’s part of the film. She loved the script, and is keen to support children and family films, especially indie productions like ours.”

Fellow director Tim Clague, a Bournemouth Unversity graduate, was also selected for the prestigious Berlinale Talent Campus, where he was mentored by David Yates – director of the last four Harry Potter films.

The open auditions for Nelson Nutmeg took place at the Lighthouse in Poole back in June and saw more than 280 would-be child stars audition for the film’s four main characters.

Nelson Nutmeg is due to be released in June 2015.
