The Royal Mail says that 93.5% of first class post was delivered on time in the Dorset postcode for the first quarter of the financial year 2014-15, and reaching 99% delivery within three days.
Nationally, Royal Mail beat its 93.0 per cent first class mail target with 93.3 per cent of this mail delivered next working day.
It also exceeded its second class mail target of 98.5 per cent, delivering 99.0 per cent of this mail within three working days.
Last year, Royal Mail exceeded its targets for both first and second class mail, achieving 93.2 per cent and 98.9 per cent respectively.
The independently verified results are published today in the latest Royal Mail Quality of Service report, covering the first quarter of the year.
Geoff Braden, Royal Mail operations director, said: “Our people have continued to deliver across the UK to a very high standard, against one of the highest service specifications of any major European country.
“We remain the only delivery company to publish our quality of service and we are proud to do so.”
