A HOUSING group is inviting community organisations which support Dorset neighbourhoods to apply for a share of a £75,000 fund.

The invite comes from regional housing group Spectrum, specifically its community forums which look for worthy causes to donate to over the year.

Charities, not-for-profit organisations, schools, social enterprises and community projects can all apply for a grant but must be located, or operate, in the areas where Spectrum Housing Group has homes and residents.

Last year, neighbourhoods in Dorset benefitted from around £15,000 from Spectrum’s Community Forum Grant.

Beneficiaries include a Roadwise project in Weymouth that educates 16 to 24-year-olds on good driving practice and behaviour, and a Blandford carers group.

Bev Tarrant, Spectrum resident and local Community Forum Chairman, said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to re-invest in our local areas, so I’d urge any Dorset worthy causes to get in touch.”

The financial year is now starting for Spectrum, so it’s the best time to apply.

Grants must benefit those communities and the maximum donation is £3,000 per project. Organisations should call 0800 783 7837 or email contact@spectrumhousing.co.uk for details on how to apply.
