DORSET residents are being invited to have their say on ophthalmology services as part of an upcoming review.

Health chiefs claim around one in every 25 people in the county suffer with eye problems such as glaucoma, while around 20 per cent of people aged over 75 have poor vision. A spokesman for Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “Our population is ageing and it is essential that we prepare now to meet this increasing demand.

“The views of people who currently use local ophthalmology services are vital to help inform our review, ensuring we are able to continue to deliver high quality services.”

Anyone interested in providing their views should call 01305 368057 or e-mail Laura.Webster@dorsetccg.nhs.uk by Friday, January 31.

Audio invitations are available by ringing 01305 368057.

Ophthalmology is a service provided for patients with glaucoma, age related macular degeneration, cataracts and other sight problems.
