The borough council has agreed this morning to market a 125 year lease on chalets at Greenhill in Weymouth.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council is pressing ahead with a plan to sell off the Greenhill Garden chalets, Esplanade chalets, Greenhill Play Gardens and chalets, public toilets and other facilities.
The Management Committee also agreed that if no one came forward to take it on, chalet licenses should be reoffered to current licensees and then to those on a waiting list for a short term lease for the summer of 2014, whilst the property is remarketed.
Liz Bird, spokesman for the Greenhill Chalet Users Community Group, said that the group was not surprised by the decision.
She said they would have liked the councillors to defer the decision for a year and undertake a consultation with all interested parties.
She added: "We are obviously very disappointed that consideration of all the documents we put forward hasn't been considered."
