WESSEX Water has received an award in recognition of its approach to health and safety.

The company’s in house construction firm Wessex Engineering Construction Services (WECS) received the gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) as part of its Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

The awards recognise commitment to the prevention of accidents and ill health and are open to all businesses and organisations across the UK, and overseas.

The scheme looks at accident records, health and safety management systems and workforce involvement.

Stephen Penn, WECS compliance manager, said: “We are very pleased to be awarded the RoSPA gold award for 2013.”
