A KIND-HEARTED Weymouth gentleman made donations to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust for his 80th birthday.
John Cleaver of Weymouth recently celebrated his 80th birthday with a party for family and friends at the Lugger Inn, at Chickerell. Instead of requesting presents for his landmark birthday John asked for donations to his preferred charity – Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
John said “Over the years Weldmar has played an important part in my life.
“I have lost many friends who have spent their last days peacefully at the Joseph Weld Hospice under the expert care of the nursing team.
“I also lost my darling wife Pat to cancer 13 years ago. She never made it to the hospice but received dedicated care and attention from the Weldmar specialist nurses at Dorset County Hospital.”
During the party John organised a raffle of an original watercolour of Corfe Castle, which he had painted. In total John raised £210 for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
