A FAMILY and their two dogs were airlifted to safety after becoming stuck on unstable cliffs near Weymouth.
Coastguards scrambled to help two adults, two children and their pets at around 1.40pm on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened at Redcliff Point, near Osmington.
The family were airlifted to the cliff top where they were met by rescue teams.
It comes after people were warned to take care after a treacherous crack, a six-foot deep and 150-foot long hole, opened up on a popular stretch of the coast path between Redcliff Point and Bowleaze Cove.
A spokesman for Portland Coastguard said the family had been rescued from the area where recent landslips had taken place.
