SOMETHING special was brewing in Poundbury as staff at a local publishers celebrated their latest title to hit the shelves.
The team at Veloce Publishing proudly marked the arrival of a brand new book by television car dealing expert Mike Brewer star of show Wheeler Dealers.
They held a ‘Mike Brewer Day’ in his honour during which they donned Mike Brewer masks and posed for photographs clutching wads of Monopoly money.
Staff also made cupcakes featuring the logo for his Wheeler Dealer series, now in its ninth season.
A total of 14 people and one dog got involved in the day, with the fun being recorded for Veloce’s Facebook page and Twitter feed using the #MikeBrewerDay hashtag.
The events came to a conclusion with the staff all cramming into a vintage 1929 Chevrolet AC International Roadster.
Veloce publisher and co-founder Rod Grainger said the team were ‘proud’ to have published Mr Brewer’s book and held the a party for the occasion.
He said: “This was a great way to celebrate a terrific new book that Veloce is proud to have published.
“Mike is a great character and this is a book that has eagerly been anticipated by classic and collectible car fans around the world. There are also 84,895 people who like Mike’s Wheeler Dealer Facebook page and nearly 30,000 followers on Twitter.”
Mike Brewer’s The Wheeler Dealer Know How! Will be launched as a hardback at the London Book Fair.
The book claims to provide everything you need to know about buying, preparing and selling collectable cars.
