COMEDIAN Patrick Monahan is preparing to bring his witty humour to Dorchester on Saturday, February 15, 2020.

Started From the Bottom Now I'm Here will feature smart observations of a newfound, middle-class lifestyle through the prism of poor, immigrant, living-in-a-caravan roots.

Born in Iran to an Irish father and Iranian mother, Patrick and his family left the country after the Iranian Revolution, when he was three years old. He has since developed a successful career in comedy, winning ITV's stand-up contest Show Me the Funny in 2011.

Patrick has appeared on television programmes including The One Show, Fake Reaction and Celebrity Squares as well as performing regularly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He holds the world record for longest hug, at a time of 25 hours and 25 minutes, alongside fellow comedian Bob Slayer.

Patrick will perform at the Corn Exchange, and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets are £12 or £10 for concessions and members of Dorchester Arts, available from the Dorchester Arts website, by contacting the box office, or by visiting the Corn Exchange.
