WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley believes the Terras’ Vanarama National League South clash at Gloucester City against Truro City has “added spice” tomorrow (7.45pm).

Nomadic club Truro last night beat Dover 1-0 to stay up, having endured an immensely difficult season with two changes of home venue.

The White Tigers, last season promoted from Step 3, have settled on the 3G pitch at Gloucester to see out their campaign in a crammed finale.

Paul Wotton’s men assured themselves of safety with the Dover win, meaning they would not rely on other fixtures involving Taunton, Torquay and Eastbourne going their way.

Molesley told Echosport: “At this stage, the teams nearer the bottom who are fighting for their lives have probably got better form than the top.

“A really tough game awaits us. I know Paul and his teams are always very competitive and tough to play against with that added bit of spice.

“This is what I wanted, I want tough games. We’re going to have to show our resilience after what is another long away trip.”

Weymouth have forgone training this week in a bid to rest their players ahead of a fourth considerable journey in succession.

Molesley added: “With it being the end of the season, these players have had a lot of games in short succession and a lot of travel.

“We’ve had to reluctantly trade off training for rest and recuperation, which isn’t the way I like to work. I’m a frustrated manager at the moment.

“I really want to work with these players on the training pitch. We’re doing all our learning through the games.

“Our work will be done tactically and a bit more analytical rather than on the training pitch.”

Teddy Howe (groin) and Ben Winterburn (ankle) are likely to miss out.
